SNSD Makes em' Feel the Heat

SNSD also known as Girls' Generation have released a new song called The Boys. The best news? They have released the Korean and English versions at the same time.

Something about this video strikes me as odd, and that's the random symbolism. Take for instance the random dove.
I thought maybe it was just that the English lyrics had been changed so drastically that the video no longer made much sense. It turned out that was the case.

Translated Korean Lyrics:

It seems the Korean lyrics are quite a bit deeper than the English ones, and the video doesn't clash as drastically.

My opinion on this video? A tad bit boring. There are long stretches of not much going on.

The colors for the most part are very subdued and gray. There are of course some splashes of vibrant color.
It seems like SNSD is trying to be more mature in their image, and it's working for them.

The ladies of SNSD are back with a fierce new look as well as a fresh new album, and it didn’t take long before they achieved an “all-kill” on the various music charts.
Their new full-length album ‘The Boys‘ was released earlier today on October 19th (KST), and their title song “The Boys” is already #1 on major music sites such as Bugs, Melon, Dosirak, Naver, and Daum, as well as breaking the Top 100 on the iTunes Top 100 US Chart!

So even though I think the English lyrics are a little lame and the music video can be boring in spots, SNSD pulls out a big win on this one.
