Today the first thing they did was to mark their positions on stage, so the dance movements were briefly executed, to mark their spots. When Taemin tried to get up from his lying down position, but perhaps he did not exert enough force, so he (was unstable) and swayed twice after he got up. He smile/laughed embarassly and everyone laughed (along with him) too, it was too cute TT

Up next, it was the official recording. While Taemin was standing at the side waiting for his part, he sang and danced along with BoA. (The dance) was so charismatic, not pretentious at all (S/N : Awkward phrasing), it's no wonder Taemin danced willingly/took the initiative.

Taemin's dance moves are like (Idiom) "How the clouds move and waters flow" (S/N : Meaning how natural and unrestrained (smooth) his movements are). He huge actions which were smoothly carried out which looks so perfect. He clutched (a lock of) BoA noona's hair once he stepped up onto the stage - an atmosphere filled with sexiness/ passion TT TT The actions were clean, all the movement was fully executed to the right position TT TT He sexily touched his lips as he walks down the stage TTTT Naughty (Boy) TTT

At first, I thought that we could at least watch 2 rounds of recordings TTT However, probably because their performance had so much chemistry, they completed with just 1 recording TTTT

After the recording, Boa pulled Taemin over to bid goodbye to everyone. Little kiddo even asked everyone to give a lot of support to BoA Noona, and do fan support for noona. He is so well-behaved/polite/sweet TTTTT

Today is Boa's 12th Anniversary since debut, so everyone cheered and supported her with all their might. Seems like BoA also received a video footage of the fan's support (?) and cheers so she danced adorably.

After the live broadcast, they proceeded on with BoA's 12th Anniversary's Fan meeting. BoA mentioned that the Couple Dance she felt most comfortable with is the one she collaborated with Taemin TTTT

Another highlight for today is the comment made by BoA's fans about Taemin - 1) One of BoA's male fan shouted : "Taemin came out! Taemin came out!" "Wah, Ah.. Taemin is really like a doll!" "Taemin really dance very well!" "Will Taemin appear in the broadcast?" "Ah..Taemin is really cute" 2) A female fan from the side shouted "Ah.. Seems like Taemin dances really well" TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT Kiddo's strengths have been witnessed by everyone TTT Thank you for all your love for kiddo TTTTTTT

Lastly, I still want to congratulate BoA a Happy 12th Anniversary! She really deserves everyone's love - OFFSTAGE, she has a adorable, animated 4-D, dorky (personality), but ONSTAGE, she is the charismatic, captivating Kwon BoA.

Red Checkered Shirt Taemin is as charismatic and charming as usual. Just by watching him touch his nose before he dance, I wondered if there are any changes (to the feel of) this couple dance - Seemingly Taemin discovered the blur and cute side of Queen BoA (Appendix 1 : see below), so Taemin inner-mischievious Kindergarten boy (personality) starts to unfold on the stage. By touching his nose to act cool then slowly reach out his hands to toss BoA's hair while looking at her with an evil smirk - he (gradually) starts to fool around more.

I think that Taemin came for the recording with an empty stomach : During the first rehearsal, the action where Taemin had to get up from his lying down position, he slightly wobbled and smiled out of embarassment. When Taemin lay down (on the floor), it was a pity that I did not manage to catch a glimpse of what colour the band of his underwear.

After he walked down the stage, he stood at the side of the performance stage in the dark. The staff members gave him water to drink. He drank a huge mouthful of water and smiled/laughed as he was being fanned while engaging in small talk with other (staff members/dancers etc).

For the actual recording, the entire set of movements have been executed very smoothly. This time round the smirk on his face when he clutched on BoA's hair was not as evil/does not look as mischievous as the previous time. He touched his nose as he retreated backstage. Then he squatted at a dark corner of the performance stage again, (trying down) to lower his profile/ hide his presence. After BoA completed the entire song, he jumped back on the stage for a closing bow. BoA patted both of his shoulders from the back and then they bowed together. Today is BoA's 12th Anniversary since Debut. After Music Core live broadcast has ended, BoA held a small fan-meeting. Fans asked her which partner for "Only One" Couple Dance she felt most comfortable with, and BoA answered "Taemin~"

--- Appendix 1 : During the start of the fanmeeting, she asked fans where did they come from. A fanboy shouted that he came from Seoul, BoA then gave a blur look "What Seoul Milk?" She misheard "From Seoul" as "Seoul Milk" as their pronounciation was similar.

Once SHINee’s Well-known popularity has been justified, they will end their local activities “To see you again in next half of the year!”

Walking in to their last performance for (Sherlock included in) their new album, Onew stood out as a representative to relate their thoughts.

SHINee performed “Sherlock” on KBS 2TV “Music Bank” on April 20. That performance was their last music (performance) broadcast locally.

On that day, SHINee stood in front of the official stage to meet, and conveyed their feelings to the reporters. As SHINee’s representative, Leader Onew spoke “As our local activities has been really short, we will work hard to present (to everyone) more sides and styles of us. During our very long absence, though we only had a short promotion period, we were still really happy and grateful that there were many fans who continued to give us love and support, hence we are really thankful (for that).”

During “Music Bank” live stage, it is really evident to see the weariness on Onew’s face. According to some insider’s info, Onew had practiced till 5AM in the morning that day. He did not even have the chance to catch a wink before he rush to Yeouido island to complete his schedules - it goes the same for other SHINee members. “Actually (I) look really tired, but (I am) not tired at all.. in fact, I’m so tired that I feel like dying!” He spoke in a jokingly manner with a smile on his face.

Their skinny figures have aroused many concern from the public. “We have been working extremely hard to eat!” Onew expressed “Are you curious about what I have eaten yesterday? At 3.30AM, I “nom nom” finished a handburger set and 6 chicken McNuggets!” He said it with much satisfaction and he looked adorable.

On that day. Onew kept showing an embarrassed expression due to my repeated praises for him. When faced with reporter’s praises regarding album sales, singing abilities, variety sense etc, Onew showcased his unique Gag Sense and exude a sense of humbleness.

Furthermore, we have talked about the highlight of the “Sherlock” dance. The main point of the Sherlock dance comes from the cooperation of the 5 members. Even if there were a hint of mistake, the entire performance would have “collapsed”.  If the 5 members teamwork had not been precised enough, such perfect dance could not have been achieved. A nickname for the dance is “Amputated statues dance” (S/N : Greek Statues).

Regarding this, Onew commented “(The) relationship (between our members) have always been really good, if we were faced with any problems, we were able to solve it well. Now everyone has been working really hard, that’s good!” According to an insider’s info, the reason why SHINee is able to showcase such good image, to get such good results is all because of a good leader who is able to control/manage the group and also also the trust between the members, being able to do well each individual roles in the group.

Everyone please anticipate, for their upcoming Japan activities around the corner and their full album (to be released) in the next half of the year. Onew has revealed his desires “After our Japan tour promotions have ended, we will immediately meet up with our Korean fans. I personally wish that I am able to do take up the challenge for another Musical at the last half of the year!” Also, feeling such a great pity that they were unable to showcase many of their personal activities, Onew commented “On another hand, we feel that it is a great relieve. I am able to do really well for Musical performances and related characters, so I really hope I am able to have such opportunities again and able to showcase a better image!”

In addition,SHINee’s mini album “Sherlock” have clinched a triple crown award in music shows - a great result. Upon completing their local activities, they will start their performance on the 25th at Fukuoka and the surroundings for their arena tour. It is predicted that they will present a wholy different and unique appearance for their new album in the next half of the year. (Reporter : Won Won)

About Popular Culture
(T/N: ‘Popular’ here does not refer to the fame but the widespread likeness and acceptance by society of the subject mentioned.)
I believe that songs created by Popular Artistes are Popular Music. So sayings like ‘Why is that singer not Popular?’ doesn’t make any sense. On the contrary, sayings like ‘It is quite popular’ would then make people think that those ‘quite popular’ songs/singers are very similar in nature. The current Gayo (Music) industry seems to be a big battlefield where everyone fights for higher sales whilst promoting the same product. Everyone scrambles to find the best composer, the best stylist to collaborate with, and the best salon to style at. Compared to aimlessly gaining popularity without your own personality, I want more to show our special talents and approach success one step at a time.
Taemin being 20 yrs old
He doesn’t give off that familiar feeling anymore. We used to hold on to our image of him from our first encounter, but people around us kept emphasizing that he was already 20 years old. We all met when Taemin was in Primary 6, and when i was still in Secondary 2. It isn’t such an easy feat watching each other grow up.
SHINee being in the 20s
If only we could get over this time like Peter Pan. I wish to live diligently in this moment, because we are supposed to be studying in our 10s but our order seems to have be switched. We started working in the society in our 10s, so now we would roughly have an idea of what to do and what not to do. What’s left next should be enjoyment!
Comeback
I wish to meet my friends in, like KARA or BEAST, but now when we go to television broadcast stations, it seems like only the hoobaes are left. What to do? I’m not quite comfortable with hoobaes greeting me (laughs).
The current Me
I’m doing well. Living happily, and working hard. I’m not talking about my different experience with others, but i’m really thankful for being able to accomplish what i want to do. I never regretted my own choice.

20 Years Old
I had the thought that i need to start taking good care of myself from now onwards. Hoobaes are increasing in numbers too, so i need to be a role model. I feel very refreshing when i meet hoobaes in broadcasting stations.
For the 10s Singers
When i was young, i also had the thought that ‘Am i unable to prepare for debut on my own?’ Do not remain in that current status of yourself, you need to stand out and present yourself. I hope that everyone can earnestly reflect on that.
Immortal Songs 2
It’s burdening, and very nervous. Because it already had so many great singers performing. But because it is a good chance for me to present a new side of me to the public, i happily joined it despite knowing it was going to be tough. If i were to choose my best performance, it would be my performance of Kim Gun Mo’s Wrongful Meeting.
20s SHINee
Reaching 20 years old, and i feel that i have become closer to my hyungs. Even though it may only be 3 years of difference, but there is the generational gap between the 10s and the 20s. So since i’m in the 20s now, we are now able to exchange ideas more comfortably and freely.
Fantasies of being in the 20s
I want to do the things i couldn’t do when i was underaged. Although i have already planned to learn drinking with the hyungs, but we havn’t started yet.
In Taemin’s Perspective
Key-hyung always has plans ahead. He always has a fully packed schedule the next day. Onew-hyung always sleeps in the day. Minho-hyung always exercises and is very energetic. Jonghyun-hyung is obsessed with the gym recently/ Jonghyun-hyung is always at the gym lately. Me? For myself, i’m still very lost. (laughs)

Our title song SHERLOCK is a hybrid remix created by amalgamating 2 different songs, this is a very modern approach. Of course the two original song will be included in the album. This album will be a very special album that includes this style of very unique and interesting approach.
Extent of practices
To the point where i will experience extreme fatigue after performing twice. Actually we are filming the MV tomorrow, which i’m very worried about. Because we have to dance continuously for a few hours. Even if it’s very tiring, we have to do it well.
Salamander Guru and the Shadows
Oh Da-su, Lee Bing-jun sunbaenims, as my life in the drama is as long as the life i’ve spent, i’m able to learn a lot by collaborating with them. They will guide me along. After filming with Oh Da-su sunbaenim, if i feel a little pity towards the scene, he would request for a second filming immediately from the Director. I’m really thankful towards them!
4 Years
In my impression, I was still a little fearful of the reactions towards my speech and behaviour. But now i am becoming more familiar with the stage through performances and programs. Things have become more natural to me recently, and i feel that i show more of my original character now.

Taemin, who has been regarded as the nation’s representative maknae, is welcoming his 20 years old this year. Now we can’t call them teenagers and instead, we should address them as ‘Youths’ SHINee. Although it is a fan’s life to keep watch of their idol’s development, but you can’t help it when talking about SHINee, the group that awakened the ‘crazy fan’ side of the whole nation’s Noonas. We met the group, SHINee, that has returned with SHERLOCK after 1 years and 6 months of break. They are no longer the beautiful young men that seems to shine under sunlight, they has transcended into men that creates ripples in your hearts. On set, they are energetic, aesthetic, like young men of their same age.
ONEW
Songs that made SHINee grow
Among JULIETTE, NOONA IS SO PRETTY_REPLAY and LOVE LIKE OXYGEN, SHINee has started to show their distinctive colours in JULIETTE. Our looks are also slowly changing, towards the 20s generation. (laughs) With this song as our turning point, we seem to have found the performance that matches our ages. As a SHINee that is constantly working hard with all our strength, we just hope that people wouldn’t look upon us with confused thoughts.
20s generation SHINee
(because he was doing make-up then, he blabbered) My eyebrows are getting thicker and darker~! Because we have stood on many different stages in the past 1 year and 6 months, we have accumulated experience while performing our concert, so this promotion would be more interesting. There is an obvious difference than when we were still in our 10s.
Paris and London
I purely liked their music back then, and never thought they would like us too. You can say it’s like a feeling of reversal.. ‘Actually K-pop can also be so deeply loved at such a distant place! Actually we could also present our performances at such places!’ I seemed to have gained such responsibility. But in fact, i don’t have a good personality. (laughs) I am the kind who likes serenity. I am the kind who would get angry when someone beside me is very noisy when i’m trying to concentrate. At other times, I wouldn’t care that much, but i’m most sensitive when i’m singing.
Dream Stage

The Circus Maximus (an ancient Rome chariot racing arena). I wonder how it feels to sing at a place where fencing competitions are held?

I think a response like ‘daebak’ would appear first. Because other than the song, the dance also fills up the whole stage, and it would be really interesting.
Japan Debut
We released our regular album in Japan not long ago. It was very exciting re-recording songs we sang 4 years ago in Japanese. I hope everyone can listen to the songs, START and TO YOUR HEART that are only released in the Japanese Regular Album. The music itself is very upbeat and you would feel very refreshed.
News of SHINee in 2011
We had a lot of overseas schedules. We went to Europe, Asia, America, and Russia. The most memorable for me was the performance held at England’s Abbey Studios. I’m v happy that we could sing at such a prestigious place for popular culture music, and the fact we used this platform to promote our debut in Japan was really extraordinary. Although it was such a pity that i fell sick then.
The setbacks of growing older
Whenever it comes to the dance for our new album, during our performance practices, i would always have this feeling, ‘Can i do this? For real?’ It was like this for me during LUCIFER and also during JULIETTE too. We slowly develop and grow by pushing forward with the things that may seem impossible. This time too, we carry such confidence when we started the practice for this song, as the song itself requires us to too.

SHINee’s Minho talks about his acting experience in his new situational comedy

SHINee member Minho has been cast in the new SBS sitcom ‘The Salamander Expert and the Shadow Operation‘, and he recently shared his thoughts on being an actor for the very first time.
On January 12th, the singer worked hard to film on set and met with reporters from SBS in a studio and humbly remarked, “I am receiving a lot of good advice from my senior actors,” as he began his interview.
Interview:

-It’s been a week since you began filming. What, if anything, has changed since then?
“It was really awkward in the beginning. I have participated in shorter one-act plays in the past, but its been so long since I’ve even done that, which didn’t help my case. But now, I’m comfortable seeing the staff members every day and I think I have better chemistry with my sunbae actors.”
- What are your senior co-stars like?
“I used to watch movies featuring Oh Dalsoo sunbaenim, and remember thinking that I wanted to be just like him. It’s amazing to be standing in front of him, and working with him. Like a veteran, he always gives me ideas and suggestions as to how I should approach a particular scene. With his help, we are able to enrich the scenes that we originally planned.
Lim Wonhee sunbaenim always says, “Because I’m simple and ignorant”, when I see him. That’s how absorbed in her work he is. He even says that to the director. Lee Byung Jun sunbaenim and I have a lot of scenes together, and he really gets into character so much to the point that I really do think he has Alzheimer’s.
And actress Ryu Hyun Kyung who is the only female on set definitely shows that she is a powerful woman.”
- How did you decide on your concept for your character, Minhyuk?
“A chic hacker who also has social phobia. He’s kind of a dark character, so I started wearing darker clothes, too. I’m like a shadow. I usually wear bright and colorful ensembles for stage performances, but here it’s completely different.
And to look more chic than ever, I grew out my hair and toned it down a bit. I cover my eyes with my hair, and try not to make any facial expressions. I work so that, even if I don’t do anything, I’m still communicating something to the viewers.”
- What kinds of things did you feel and realize as you took on this character?
“Minhyuk is a character that’s completely different from me. It’s so weird and interesting how I come back to being myself after being Minhyuk all day. But that’s what makes it fun.”
- Anything you want to say to your viewers?
“Although it’s a situational comedy, I ended up taking on more of a serious role. But still, I hope that I can help the viewers laugh as they watch the program. I saw a copy of Oh Dalsoo sunbaenim’s script before and he on it, he had written, “I hope everyone in the nation is able to relieve the stress from the week by seeing my act.” I would like to develop that mindset and work hard to deliver laughs to the viewers.”

The first episode of ‘The Salamander Expert and the Shadow Operation‘ airs on January 27th.

SHINee who have debuted in Japan in June, will soon be releasing their 3rd Single!
In  Korea, [LUCIFER] which has received a big success, will coupled with  [LOVE LIKE OXYGEN] to be introduced as a luxury piece in Japanese  version! We will increasingly get hooked!!

Onew [Through music, I am happy that I get to encounter with many people.]

1) Now, what is the thing which you are hooked on?
Billiards. However, I am still not skilled yet, I am practicing hard.

2) What is important (to you) like the oxygen?
Fans!

3) How do you feel about touring nationwide for the debut event?
I  was given tremendous energy from all the fans. Thank you so much for  coming (to our events) ! I cannot forget the delicious food in each  place.

Jonghyun [I protray myself singing with a musical instrument]

1) Now, what is the thing which you are hooked on?
The  enjoyment of anime. Recently I have watched the movie version of  [EVANGELION] series. Next, I want to watch [Kōkaku Kidōtai: S.A.C.] –(  GHOST IN SHELL-STAND ALONE COMPLEX).

2) What is important (to you) like the oxygen?
SHINee. I’m grateful to be who I am in SHINee now.

3) How do you feel about touring nationwide for the debut event?
I  can make lots of wonderful memories with all Japanese fans at each  area. At each Japan activities from now on, I am going to looking  forward for it more and more.

Key [I also wish to take note of Dynamic Dance]

1) Now, what is the thing which you are hooked on?
I  received an IPAD as present for my birthday from Taemin. Until now, I  do not have much interests in that appliance, looking at the animations  and photos, I would soon get addicted to the various touchings  (touchscreen applications).

2) What is important (to you) like the oxygen?
SHINee members

3) How do you feel about touring nationwide for the debut event?
I  will feel anxious when I am on the stage, but I felt happy to speak the  different dialects of each location and the excitement received (from  the fans).

Minho [After the MV Photographing，I felt that the tune (of the song) has became part of me]

1) Now, what is the thing which you are hooked on?
Watching a Soccer Game! English Premier League has started in August and I am watching it closely.

2) What is important (to you) like the oxygen?
Myself.  Being healthy without any injury, I can be together with the other  members as SHINee. (SHINee is not SHINee without any of us)

3) How do you feel about touring nationwide for the debut event?
To be able to meet the fans so closely, it is a great experience. I hope to have a lot more stages to show (SHINee to the fans).

Taemin [It is deeply difficult… Right now, I am getting (myself) into composition.]

1) Now, what is the thing which you are hooked on?
I  am composing using soft compose note. I am also learning it with  Jonghyun. Doing composition, It is a deep world harder than I thought.  For this reason, I am concentrating.

2) What is important (to you) like the oxygen?
Family members and the staff around us.

3) How do you feel about touring nationwide for the debut event?
It  can really make good memories. I am very happy, and have a certain good  feeling that I can make good friends with many of the Japan fans.

SHINee has had quite the explosive reaction in Japan, they’re appearing everywhere!

- You debuted in 2008 in Korea and will start your activities in Japan. Shall we talk about the birth of SHINee as a group?
Minho: We passed an audition or were headhunted, and then practiced as SHINee for about a year before debuting in Korea.
Key: We have had our activities with this concept of contemporary band since we debuted in Korea. It means we pursue the newest trends in everything from music and dance to fashion. This part won’t change in Japan.
- Now you are entering your 4^th year together. What were your first impressions of other members?

Taemin: Minho hyung has big eyes, well-defined features, and good style. So I thought he was not a Korean (laugh). He stuttered when he talked to me maybe because he’s introverted, so I thought he’s younger than me. Key hyung made a strong impression from the beginning for his showy fashion (laugh).
Key: I was showy from the beginning (laugh).
- When did you start liking being showy? From your childhood?

Key: From middle school days. That was a peak time (laugh).
Taemin: Jonghyun hyung sings so well! I think he was singing even when we first met. Onew hyung gave this warm feeling just like the image of his gentle voice.
Key: Because I felt friendly with everyone from the beginning, I thought we’d be good together.
Jonghyun: I’m rather reserved, so I didn’t initiate a conversation more aggressively (laugh).
- What do you pay attention to as a contemporary band?

Minho: We try to pursue new things rather than comparing us with other groups. Trying to show as a group what we have absorbed through our antennas. We pay attention to staying future-oriented.
Key: So I check out newest music domestic or overseas!
- It’s been 3 years since you debuted in Korea. Did you have a time you overcame something through efforts?

Jonghyun: We haven’t had a specific set goal. Because we are trying to enjoy our music, we haven’t had a particular time we can think was a hard time.
- You mean you are now what you are because you have practiced every day and accumulated experiences.

All: Yes!
Minho: We want to show improvements we make to fans, so we are working hard every day! We think the outcome was the new artist awards we received (in Korea).
- You had a live concert at the end of last year, which attracted more than 20,000 people even before your debut. Didn’t it make you realize your popularity in Japan?

Onew: Actually we didn’t have such a large scale live concert in Korea. The concert in Japan was our first ever. Many people came to see us even before our debut and cheered for us passionately. We were nervous in the first round, but were able to show our stages in the second round.
Jonghyun: Frankly, I was concerned about how many people would turn up because it was before our debut. Everything was our first experience, so their support was really encouraging.
Onew: We didn’t know how they’d respond even on the day of our concert.
Minho: We had a completely different feeling (during the concert)from when we did our rehearsal without any audience.
- Did you gain self-confidence?

Onew: Yes. I felt, “We made it!”, looking around the stadium crowded with audiences from the stage (laugh).
- It seems you gained self-confidence for starting your activities in Japan.

Key: Frankly speaking, it’s not different from what we have done because we have released CDs. But I’m glad we get to debut in the major.
Minho: Our sunbaes (BoA, DBSK, SNSD) have had activities in Japan, so we have thought we’d like to make a debut and be artists who represent Korea.
- Did you receive any advice from those sunbaes?

Key: They said, “You should study Japanese hard.” I’m studying with dramas or variety shows!
Minho: Yoonho sunbae (DBSK) said it’s good to figure out the difference in style between Korean and Japanese—we should think about how to entertain Japanese fans with different stage manners.
Taemin: Changmin sunbae (DBSK) told me, “You can brighten up the atmosphere on a TV program with a well-known gag” (laugh). So I’m going to check out variety shows!
