Super Junior‘s Kim Heechul recently closed his @Heedictator Twitter account, but posted one last tweet to share his thoughts after appearing to have had an experience with some sasaeng fans.
On July 9th (KST), Heechul wrote:

Please do not follow me to my house or to my ward office. I thought that I became a bit more good-hearted now that I’m 30, but I guess that’s just not for me. I still feel the after effects of my accident, and it’s frightening to put my life on the line and drive away as if I’m running from something. I know this sounds arrogant, and I know people may be disappointed, but I only have one life to live. It’s my fault for being unable to be more understanding. And to all you [taxi drivers], please don’t rip off foreign fans who don’t know any better. Taking advantage of young kids with smiles on your faces make you guys look like thugs. In closing, I just hope that victims like this will not arise again. I will live quietly for the next year, without tweeting anything. I will see everyone in a year. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday.“

His last post left many fans concerned and upset that a communication passageway had been closed. What are your thoughts on his last tweet?

Jang Geun Suk treats Heechul to pizza

Fans were able to catch a glimpse into Kim Heechul‘s life through Jang Geun Suk‘s Twitter on October 17th.
Jang Geun Suk shared a photo along with the tweet, “For [the] Big Space Star who is helping protect our country, [this] Asia Prince has treated him to pizza. Big Space Star was happy receiving the pizza after he got off from work.” (Big Space Star is Heechul’s nickname and Asia Prince is Jang Geun Suk’s nickname).
In the photo, Heechul is seeing reclining on a chair while rubbing his hair, as if he was wondering how he was going to eat all that pizza

Super Junior’s Heechul parodies Orange Caramel’s ‘Shanghai Romance’

Super Junior‘s Heechul has shown the world his love and support for Orange Caramel‘s ‘Shanghai Romance‘. The picture was released through Heechul’s Twitter, and netizens are now dubbing the image as “Shocking and horrifying Heerange Caramel“. Heechul is seen posing as all three members of Orange Caramel (Raina, Nana, and Lizzy), imitating perfectly the aegyo shown in the original image.
Previously, Heechul also parodied Orange Caramel’s first single, ‘Magic Girl‘, with fellow members Shindong and Eunhyuk.
Orange Caramel replied to Heechul’s photo with, “We are so thankful to Kim Heechul-sunbae for not only helping us compose ‘Shanghai Romance’, but in parodying it as well. We will work hard to match your level of support for us. We want you to look forward to our new visuals, which will be shown soon through the stage.“

[My Music Radar! Comentary] Super Junior's Heechul attempts his first day in Public Service Personnel and I'm trying hard not to rant here.

 

Super Junior's Heechul attempts his first day in Public Service Personnel
and is greeted (swarmed) by fans and Reporters.
I'm trying really hard here not to rant but I fear it's a loosing battle.

Heechul stated in several pre-service interviews that he wished to serve quietly.
Apparently this is not gonna happen, at least not right now.
And I feel so bad for him. I have a feeling that he ran away to the service,
just my own opinion.
The way things happened so quick and his attitude right before joining just, I dunno,
it was almost like 'stop the world I wanna get off'

Pictures speak a thousand words, and his clearly say 'Leave me alone!'
He seemed to enjoy the quiet time in boot camp even taking time to notice the night stars.
Can't the fans and reporters just leave him alone?
Let the man serve in peace and come back to us the more mature man he so desperately wants to be!

So I have been dreading this post, its kinda bittersweet.
I love my Kim Heechul Princess Diva Superman....
He is so open and forthright that I could even tell by his tweets whether things were going well or we were in for a storm and to take cover.
Through it all good and bad, this man has kept me amazed and amused and it breaks my heart that we will see little of him for 2 years.
Thats the bitter part.
The sweet part is, because he is in the public service personnel instead of active duty, when he is done with basic training, he will in all probability be back home every night. At least this is what I have gleaned from current available information.
Still he will of course not be performing or promoting with Super Junior so we will see little of him till he is discharged.
He did try to enter low key, and perhaps this is the beginnings of the more mature man he wishes to become. A video shows that for Heechul, this was indeed low key and fairly quiet.

After officially announcing that he woud be joining the army next month, Super Junior’s Heechul sat down for an interview with Star News and revealed his thoughts on his upcoming enlistment.
Heechul began, “I’m already going at a later age than most, so I wanted to enlist as quietly as possible. After I enlisted, I was planning to tell everyone through Leeteuk’s radio program. Those around me, however, said that it wouldn’t be respectful to my fans or to everyone else who had an interest in me, and I agreed. That’s why I revealed my enlistment decision at the company today.”
He continued, “I briefly did think about delaying it, especially since it hasn’t been that long since Super Junior’s fifth album, ‘Mr. Simple‘, was released, and also because it’s doing so well… but I thought that it’d be better to just turn my decision into actions while I was still in the mindset. I actually feel more comfortable now that it’s gone out. In the remaining time, I’ll be concluding my broadcast activities as well as make a visit to my hometown in Kangwon-do. There are a lot of things I have to do.”
Heechul also thanked his members and fans by stating, “I’m really thankful to the Super Junior members. I’m too shy to say it directly so I texted them saying, ‘You guys need your hyung.’ I’m just so grateful for them and I trust that they’ll lead Super Junior in a great way while I’m away.”
To his fans, he said, “Thank you for loving me unconditionally over the past six years. I won’t, however, ask for you to wait for me. Instead, please support me again if you still like me when I come back with a heart of starting anew.”

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul has exclaimed that he will transform into a tough macho man!
On July 16th, Kim Heechul tweeted, “This is the last pale picture of me~ I looked young due to my slightly chubby cheeks, but now I want to look older. Let’s go go to intense workouts and muscles. Ma-Si (in reference to his fellow muscular member Choi Siwon) gave me a macho nickname, Ma-Chul.” and uploaded a picture of himself.
In the picture, Kim Heechul poses like a little boy with his large eyes, pale skin, and curly hair.
Choi Siwon also tweeted about Kim Heechul working out stating, “Heechul-hyung and I are working out right now. He sincerely asked me how he would look if he got a tan. So I told him that he would look okay.”
In response, Kim Heechul tweeted, “Let’s get a suntan before we film for the music video. I have nothing else to show you. I already tried being thin, having long hair, short hair, mustache, dying my hair, etc. The only things left are six packs and muscles. Let’s go Ma-Shi and Ma-Chul.”

Happy Birthday to Super Junior’s Heechul!
On July 9th, Heechul tweeted, “It’s Kim Heechul’s birthday, the megastar of outer space. Pikachukachukachu~ I first want to thank my parents, and also give thanks to all those who have shown me love. I will become a better Kim Heechul! But even while saying this I’m stuck at home. Just once, I wish I could celebrate my birthday with a girlfriend ㅠㅠ”.
A few hours later, he updated his fans with the tweet, “I was at home when Jin Young hyung called me out for a surprise birthday party ㅠㅠ as expected, it’s JYP~!! Park Jin Young, Chun Jung Myung, Sangchu, Heenim!! I’m in a good mood (even though it’s just us four guys). Super Junior fans are very familiar with Kim Heechul’s alter-ego, ‘Lady HeeHee‘, who’s made an appearance in numerous events and gag photos. Rocking a range of looks (particularly from the “Poker Face” days) ‘Lady HeeHee’ became the premier Korean mimic of the world’s most prolific pop performance artist.
Recently, the lady herself praised Heechul for his spot-on impersonation. “Oh, he looks amazing! He looks amazing – look at that hairbow! Very good,” she gushed.

Super Junior’s Heechul and TRAX’s Jungmo came together to form a new project group called ‘M&D‘. The duo have already released their debut track, but their music video for ‘Close Ur Mouth‘ is on its way!
On June 23rd, the MV will be released through SMTOWN’s official YouTube and Facebook accounts. Reportedly, it was filmed earlier this month at ‘EverySing Noraebang’ in Seoul’s Apgujeong-dong. Heechul was said to have directly participated in the making of the music video, casting the actors and filming staff himself.
On the other hand, Jungmo showed off his talents as an artist by playing the guitar, bass, and electronic drums for the music video.
In addition, Supreme Team’s Simon D, miss A’s Jia, FT Island’s Hongki and Jonghoon, B2ST’s Junhyung and comedian Kim Kyung Jin have made special appearances in the music video, adding to the rising anticipation for its release.

Last night, we reported on SM Entertainment’s new project duo “M&D“, which is comprised of Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and Trax’s Kim Jungmo.

“M&D” stands for “Midnight & Dawn”, a name that’s perfect for their unique clash in musical style. With one member being an idol popstar and the other being a guitarist for a rock band, we can definitely believe their claim when they say they’ll bring a sound “unlike anything you’ve heard before“.

Trax’s Jungmo and Super Junior’s Heechul form a project group

Fellow SM Entertainment artists Kim Jungmo and Kim Heechul have banded together to form a new group called “M&D”!
The collaboration between the TRAX and Super Junior members will feature songs written, composed, and arranged by the artists themselves.
The name of their group, “M&D”, is an acronym for “Midnight & Dawn”; it also stands for the initials of their respective neighborhoods, ‘Miari’ (미아리) and ‘Dangye-dong; (단계동).
Their first title track, “Close ur Mouth Song“, will be released on June 22nd. The boys boast that it will feature a brand-new sound “unlike anything you’ve heard before.”

Super Junior’s Heechul to withdraw from radio program, “Young Street”

Super Junior’s Kim Heechul will leave SBS’s “Young Street” after DJing the radio program for nearly a year and three months.
On June 21st, SBS revealed that Heechul, who DJed since March 2010, will have his final live broadcast on the 26th; the idol sought to concentrate more on his singing and acting activities.
Heechul stated, “I apologize to the fans who loved ‘Young Street’, but in order to concentrate on Super Junior’s upcoming album, and to better show new sides to myself on movies and dramas, I have unfortuately decided to resign from my DJ position.”
For five days, beginning on June 27th and ending on July 1st, “Young Street” will have a ‘Special DJ Week’ with a different DJ hosting the program everyday.
One of the five special DJs will be named as the new “Young Street” DJ on July 2nd’s live broadcast.

Kim Heechul “Radio Star is the real Variety show”

“There’s no real variety show like this one.”

The quote is from Kim Heechul who became the new MC of popular variety program, Radio Star, talking about the atmosphere of Radio Star studio.

Kim Heechul said in a recent interview with Yonhap News, “I have wanted to be in this great program as the MC. So when I became the MC, I participated in the taping with lots of anticipations. But I was surprised when the atmosphere of the taping was exactly the same as it was on TV.”

He added, “it was really helpful when Kim Goora hyung told me not to be prepared. Before doing the show, I thought I should be bold and show my real self, even though I might be seen as arrogant. So it was easier for me to get adjusted to the atmosphere of the filming studio.”

Since the 8th of last month, Kim Heechul has been appearing on Radio Star as an MC. He took over for Shin Jung Hwan who left the show due to his scandal with gambling. Kim Heechul has successfully adapted himself to the strong sunbaes Kim Goora, Yoon Jongshin and Kim Gookjin.

◇Practicing a script ㆍno one helps each other “This is Radio Star”= “Which member helps you the most?” “Which member reacts the best to what you say?” “Which member said well wishing words to you after a taping?”

On these question, Kim Heechul answered, “no one.” He said, “The program is the same on TV as it is during the taping of it. I think that’s the reason why viewers like Radio Star.”

He added, “the MCs don’t help each other. They don’t even help the guests. Why would they help each other? The MC that reacts the best to me? I rather think it’s the guests that react best to what I say. After the taping ends, all of us are busy trying to get home. The cool mood is what Radio Star is all about.” (laughs)

He said, “the cool mood is even shown in the script on the opening lines and on the list of questions. I don’t know if it’s because we frequently talk informally to the guests, but script says ‘talking down prohibited’ in small fonts.”

“The staffs told me that it’s a kind of program that you would fail if you went to the show prepared. There’s no separate time for practicing the script and we joke with each other in the waiting room until the taping starts. Everything we say is almost like ad libs. So there’s no better program than Radio Star if you want to develop your quick thinking on variety shows.”

He added, “I felt heartwarming cheers from Radio Star hyungs when they would give me minor reactions.”

“When I say ‘yeah~’ and tell Goora hyung to hit my fist, he does it while looking unwilling about it. Then Jongshin hyung smiles and Gookjin hyung laughs ‘huh huh huh’. Even though I say this, the hyungnims tell me lots of good things. Jongshin hyung tells me ‘(Hee)Chulah I like your gag’ and laughs warmly.

◇”My dream is to host Kim Heechul Show“= Even though he co-hosts the program with ahjussi MCs who have unique personalities, the person he felt the biggest burden towards was Shin Junghwan.

It wasn’t really burdensome for me to co-host the program with the hyungs because I felt at ease when I thought that I didn’t have to act like them. But it was burdensome for me to think that I have to fill in the shoes of Shin Junghwan hyung. Since Junghwan hyung was the best in thinking quickly and did well in variety shows. Even though I felt burdensome, I thought to myself, I just have to act like myself.”

The weapon he chose was arrogance which was the result of thinking outside the box. He pushed Kim Goora’s buttons who is the expert on biting remarks. When Kim Heechul appeared on the program as a special guest MC, Kim Goora told him that he’ll be notified after the MCs mark his score and Kim Heechul showed his confidence by replying, “I’ll think about that too.”

Among the idol singers, Kim Heechul is especially active as a host.

He hosts SBS radio PowerFM’s (107.7㎒) Kim Heechul’s Youngstreet and is also an MC on MBC TV’s new program The Night when Memory Shines.

He said his dream is to host Kim Heechul Show in the future. He added, “I’m going to work hard as part of Super Junior and on my acting career. But I want to focus on becoming a host for awhile.”

“I received the spotlight as a guest on variety shows before. Now, with Radio Star, I want to receive the spotlight as the MC of new generation. To become such an MC, I would have to build my skills through various experiences. I already cast my first guest on Kim Heechul Show. The C.E.O. of my company(SM Entertainment) Mr. Lee Sooman agreed to appear on the show.” (laughs)

Five idol taboos broken by the ‘Big Space Star’* Kim Heechul

Within five years of his debut, Super Junior’s Kim Heechul has not only skyrocketed to fame, but he’s also become a formidable star in the celebrity stratosphere.

Heechul first debuted as a member of Super Junior back in 2005, and caught everyone’s attention with his pretty boy looks. Producers from the acting industry were quick to cast this handsome rookie, which eventually landed him a role in KBS’s “Banolim.” From the start of his career, Heechul doubled his potential by walking on dual paths as an actor and a singer.

But it’s not only his career choices alone that made his star rise.

Perhaps it’s because he was born in the natural and carefree city of Kwangwon-do, but Heechul has never hesitated to express his thoughts nor compromise his bright and outgoing personality. Although this soon became the reason why he’s developed a strong fanbase, it’s also given birth a lot of anti-fans as well.

Despite it all, he’s managed to reach the sixth year of his career today, and is still the same confident person fans fell in love with from the start; now the general public is finally beginning to recognize his genuine merit.

He’s managed to turn his antis into fans, all the while breaking the taboos laid against idol singers. Star News came up with the ‘Top 5′ taboos that Heechul’s moved against, which are as follows:

Before the arrival of Heechul, the virtue of idols was strict modesty. Idols were expected to scream “No!” once complimented, whether it be for their looks, talents, or whatever else was being referred to.

But Heechul was different. He confidently declared, “I am kind of handsome.“ Although this statement brought him many antis, his ‘consistent cockiness’ through the past five years has ironically engrained a sense of sincere honesty; something that even antis couldn’t argue against.

Now, when he declares himself as a ‘big space star’ on broadcast programs, nobody crinkles their face in disagreement, but laughs along, amused.

His confidence was even seen before Kim Gura, who’s notorious for his harsh remarks. Heechul regarded him with respect, while at the same time, expressing all that he wanted. Such confidence earned him an honorable high five from the gagman.

Heechul commented, “I’m not really a respectful child, but I never hide myself from others. It’s the same from when I addressed Gura-hyung. He does give way for me a lot, but what I think is personally weird is that I’m a great fan of the harsh criticisms Gura and Myungsu-hyung dishes out. Maybe because they’re confident as well? (laughter)”

Heechul’s fearlessness has made even SM representatives surprised over his actions. Moments after his debut, Heechul did a voice imitation of SM’s producer, Lee Soo Man, that not only surprised his manager, but representatives alike, as it was the first time any star attempted such an act.

He explained, “On a broadcast show, I did once imitate his voice. I did it to have some fun, but my manager hyungs acted really shocked and discussed in length with the PDs about whether to let it go out on broadcast or not. I called Lee Soo Man and asked, ‘I imitated your voice in a positive way. This can be aired, right?’ He said, ‘Sure, I trust that our Heechul is a respectful child. I could say no, but that will make you do it more, so just let it air.’ Ever since then, many different SM stars have imitated his voice (laughter).”

3. Despite being an SM star, he’s often seen on broadcast programs saying, “YG and JYP, fighting!“

The rivalry between the top three, SME, JYPE, and YGE, is known by any Korean music fan. Although it’s a competition created with good will, artists have always been seen rooting for their own labels in public programs.

Asked about his favorite girl group member, Heechul didn’t choose an SM labelmate, but the Wonder Girls‘ Sohee from JYPE. SNSD’s Yoona later retorted, “Oppa, why do you only like Sohee?” He replied back, “You’re closer with 2PM than you are with me!”

Recently, at his “Young Street” radio program, he even sang a song from 1TYM and shouted out, “YG Family, peace! Fighting!“ Because fans know that he loves the SM family more than anyone else, they’re able to laugh off such cute antics in good humor.

4. Being an idol himself, he once claimed, “There’s too much idol music. I hope band music makes a comeback.“

Although he’s nearly 29 years old now, Heechul is still one of the representative idol figures. But for such an idol to exclaim on a radio broadcast, “In our country’s broadcast industry, idol music is too strong. I hope band music and other varieties of genres will receive much love as well.”

As a radio DJ, he comes across not only popular music, but a wider variety of genres as well. Through his experience, he claimed that he realized the only way for people to genuinely love and become interested in idol music is for other genres to receive just as much love.

5. The public easily understands why he calls himself BoA’s brother and labels IU as a “singer song student.”

It’s rare to see anyon treat Asia’s star, BoA, with such fearlessness because of her stature. As you’ve guessed by now, Kim Heechul is the exception. He once claimed on a radio show that BoA has impressive drinking skills, which BoA was able to laugh off because she knows his personality better than anyone else. To music fans, they’ve become affectionately known as the ‘angry siblings.’

Heechul’s fearlessness doesn’t end there, though; his new target is the nation’s new little sister, IU. Before IU hit it big with “Good Day,” she used to appear as a fixed guest on his radio program. She received the nickname “singer song student” by Heechul, which he explained to mean a high school student with exceptional talents in music.

Heechul commented, “BoA is like my little sibling. When we’re together, we treat each other with both warmth and swears (laughter). And IU used to have a difficult time regarding me, but now she’s become a great little sister. It might be hard to believe, but I do get shy around new people. Even so, once I get close with someone, I stick by them until the end. This personality has worked well in getting close with BoA and IU (laughter).”
